The work on Isham St. creating greenbelt and front yard gardens is part of a larger ISGOOD vision of creating a Gardening Map of the City's Neighborhoods. The founders of ISGOOD hoped that bringing people to the front of their houses, to connect and to create something beautiful and edible, would result in a healthier and safer neighborhood. And, it has, according to data and to the people who live on the street! Something unique about the experience: landlords donated some of the land for the gardens and now their properties are blooming with flowers and vegetables instead of being strewn with trash and overrun with tire tracks.
