2023 VGN Board Openings

The Vermont Garden Network is accepting applications for its Board of Directors.

Be a part of the leadership team supporting garden education and wellness programs across Vermont. Much of our work supports underserved and diverse populations including residents in affordable housing, New Americans, seniors and low-income families.  We also deliver comprehensive training for garden organizers, workshops and resources for all levels of gardeners and funding for garden related projects.  Our mission is to cultivate well-being by helping people of all ages access resources to grow food, build confidence and connect with each other.

Our staff and board work to develop partnerships and programs to create a healthier Vermont and integrate the diverse perspectives of the communities we serve.  Board members live throughout the state and collectively organize their communities towards food justice and empowerment through gardening.  All board members play an active role in fundraising. The full board meets quarterly and individual board members also participate in committee work.

We invite community members who want to contribute toward food security, equity and positive community development to join our leadership team.  Desirable skills and experience for potential board members include fundraising, marketing, communications, education, and/or business management.  We value diversity, inclusion and geographical representation; candidates from outside Chittenden County and BIPOC community members are encouraged to apply.
